The 2021 NASCAR season has maybe been the most anticipated season in over 20 years. And now the field is set for the opening race of the season. On Wednesday, drivers completed a 1 lap single car qualifying session to set the front row. Alex Bowman ( 48 Ally Chevrolet) and William Byron (No. 24 Axalta Chevrolet) had the fastest times making them the pole sitters for the Daytona 500. Thursday night, drivers competed in the Daytona Duels. The Duels being 2, 60 lap races to set the rest of the field for Sunday. The first duel setting the inside row, and the second duel setting the outside duel. In the first race, Aric Almirola (No. 10 Smithfield Ford) won after leading 52 of the 60 laps. In the second duel, Austin Dillion (No. 3 Brass Pro Shop Chevrolet) won in a final lap pass with Bubba Wallace (No. 23 Door Dash Toyota) after getting a big push from Kevin Harvick.
