With the fall sports season starting up, there is a big debate about whether football or soccer is more intriguing to watch. Personally, I have been a football fan all of my life because my dad happens to be one of the biggest Kansas City Chiefs fan. There is just something about snuggling up on a Sunday with a display of snacks and finger foods to watch football all afternoon that hits home. I have never been one to watch soccer because I have never played it nor has anyone in my family.
I prefer the football atmosphere as there are tons of fans roaring in the stands dressed from head to toe in football gear and team colors. I would say that I like to watch college football over NFL considering that I’m in college now, but that would be a lie. I would rather sit back to watch a Chiefs game with my family and soak in all the fall feels of football season. Though, I do still enjoy watching college football on Saturday’s here and there.
Not only is it nice to watch football on TV, but I have also got the in-person experience at the Chiefs vs. Bills game in Arrowhead stadium last December and that was an amazing experience. The stadium is one of a kind and the fans are the loudest of loud. Even though the Chiefs happened to lose a close game that night, I will never forget the experience of doing the wave through the crowd and singing along to the famous chant. Football is one of those sports that everyone gets rowdy for whereas soccer is a bit more laid back and that is why I enjoy the craziness of football. Overall, I would take a football game over a soccer game any day.
