Have you ever celebrated Mardi Gras?  The energetic celebration this year will fall on Tuesday, March 4th. Believe it or not Mardi Gras is related to Easter. Many Christian denominations celebrate Lent every year and Mardi Gras is the first out of the three important days to be celebrated. Lent begins with Mardi Gras; followed right after by Ash Wednesday and roughly 47 days later is Easter. The modernized purpose behind Mardi Gras is to party before you start a duration of refraining from various habits. 

Typically, Mardi Gras events consist of massive parades, parties, feasts, and dressing up in Mardi Gras related outfits. The day is known for exhibiting the colors purple, green and gold in many ways. For example, some people will wear creative masks meanwhile others will decorate their neck with a chain of beads. On separate occasions some partygoers devour King Cake with a plastic baby inside as a hidden bonus that offers good luck. 

Several locations around the world are notorious for graciously celebrating Mardi Gras in all ways imaginable. New Orleans, Louisiana is specifically one such place that is recognized for its infamous Bourbon Street where Mardi Gras related activities are undoubtedly celebrated by many Americans every year. 

The Mardi Gras vibrant environment and energy simply cannot be beaten. When given the chance, everyone should take the time to explore and participate in all that the Mardi gras season has to offer.
