After the weeks of lectures, homework, and tests, we finally reached the semester’s mid-point. In less than a week students will finally be able to kick back and relax as we enter Spring Break. With a whole week at our fingertips, however, the opportunities are very far and wide for what to do during this week-long vacation. Here are just a few helpful ideas on what to do during the week.
One of the most common things to do during vacation, especially spring break, is travel. One of the most fun ways to travel, especially with the much warmer climate, is planning a road trip. If you can drive or know somebody who can, take a couple of days on the open road with your family or friends. Travel to locations such as Wichita or Denver, even to closer locations like Dodge City. Traveling down with the people you love, and some enjoyable music and snacks will provide a very fun experience, made even better when you arrive at your destination.
However, if you cannot go far for your break, there are still plenty of fun activities to be done in Garden City. A very cost-effective spring break activity is heading to Lee Richardson Zoo. As we finally exit the shivering winter and enter into warmer days it is a perfect time to see all the animals outdoors and thriving. Right afterward you can also organize a little picnic or reserve a spot for a cookout at the nearby park.
If you have a little bit more money to spend though, it’d be the perfect time to take a drive over to our indoor water park, Parrot Cove, and dive into the water. This nice refreshing activity is perfect not just for this season, but also as a nice example of what the summer season will be like as well. If you are not a fan of swimming though do not worry as there are other places in Garden City, such as bowling. With multiple bowling alleys in town, it’s a perfect way to pass the time.
For those who like to spend their vacations indoors at home, there are still things to do during this time. With all the free time, you can finally dive into all the books or games you have been meaning to get into but have not had time for because of school. Spring Break is also the best time for people to commence their spring cleaning. Take the extra time to deep clean and reorganize your home to your standards and needs.
As we start finishing college and prepare ourselves for adulthood, the opportunities for vacationing, especially times such as spring break are coming to an end. It is best to take this time for yourself and make the best and fullest of every opportunity at your disposal. Hopefully, this list will be able to provide those fulfilling moments for you.
