Singing To Our Hearts

Singing+To+Our+Hearts

Last week, before Valentine’s Day, the Hispanic American Leadership Organization (HALO) at GCCC hosted a singing Valentine. During this event, members of HALO sang to people in our community. Donations were accepted as reservations were made to help fund the event (all donations were channeled to the GCCC HALO Club). Among the singers were: Mackenzie Meschberger, Isabella Wilds, and Elena Lopez (Vice President of HALO). Being introduced to music at a young age, the trio of women enjoy singing. The girls all gave back to the community with their voices, spreading the Valentine spirit and bringing loved ones together. Elena elaborated further on how, “The purpose of doing the Serenatas is a way to promote HALO,” she also mentioned that they, “Decided to do a singing Valentine’s to have something different and special that could be dedicated to anyone,”! They are also considering similar projects for future holidays such as Mother’s Day. Their passion for singing spreads positivity, and HALO will continue to encourage the community in the near future.

If you would like to know more about HALO, you can follow them on Facebook or you can find them in the same building as the Campus Library!
