Every year Garden City Community College hosts a trunk-or-treat event for the community to attend with their kids dressed up in Halloween costumes. GCCC had 18 groups/organizations for this event, all dressed up and decked out for these children to have a great time.
The groups consisted of the Softball Team, GSALT, GC3 Media, SGA, Football, Cosmetology, HALO, Quiz Bowl, PTK, Art/Prism, Cheer, Busters Cru, ASN, DPS, EMS, Science Math Club, Tech Ed and Women’s Basketball.
Each group dressed up as a theme, which, not to mention, did an outstanding coordinating both outfits and decorations. A few of those included M&M’s, Toy Story, 101 Dalmatians, The Lorax and Cookie Monsters. A few of the groups had games for the kids to play, like cornhole and a ring toss. SGA had a hot cocoa station that was a big hit, especially because the cold weather affected attendees that night. Kids were going back through the line just to get hot cocoa and more candy.
Overall, this was a great event for the college to connect with the community and have a good time. It is always a popular event with hundreds of people showing up and dressing up for Halloween. This will be an event that continues for the years to come at the college.
