Garden City Community College has constant new activities and events happening on campus, pretty frequently. Plenty of these events, big and small, are hosted outside the quad or within the premises of the Thomas Saffell Library.
On Tuesday, November 18th, the Hispanic American Leadership Organization, otherwise known as HALO, hosted a bake sale at the entrance of the Thomas Saffell Library in the morning. The bake sale lasted for two hours from 10 am to 12 pm. The bake sale was organized and run by various HALO members. Students and staff could pay with cash or digitally through Cash App to buy several baked goods; this money will go forward to other fun events conducted by HALO in the future.

The various items for sale were examples of traditional and iconic, and delicious Hispanic snacks. Some of the delicious goods consisted of arroz con leche, frescas con crema, sugar cookies, and jam filled cookies. All of these snacks were actually baked fresh and handmade by members of HALO themselves. Within an hour of starting, the members of HALO had already sold out of various goods.

The events conducted by organizations like HALO are just some of the many fun things present at GCCC, so make sure to check around campus and on the Buster Biz app for announcements of upcoming events happening here.
